Harmony in Sound marked a significant milestone for us, generously funded by The National Lottery Fund. We embarked on a mission to empower young individuals through open workshops focused on honing their songwriting and vocal performance skills. Our goal was clear: to guide participants in channelling their creative energies towards the completion and eventual release of their musical endeavours. To enhance the quality of our workshops, we enlisted the expertise of the exceptionally talented Phillipa Zawe, who served as a dedicated vocal coach, nurturing the talents of our young artists.
From August 2023 until the year’s end, our project unfolded primarily at the Print Imperials shop, nestled in the heart of Doncaster Centre’s Waterdale area. Additionally, to maximise the impact of our funded initiative, we extended our workshops for a brief period at the Epic Hub in Doncaster Frenchgate. This strategic move ensured that we could fully leverage the resources available to us and provide participants with a comprehensive learning experience.
